RMOIRE/LEGAL/AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE

Affiliate Disclosure.

Effective May 1, 2026 · Last updated May 1, 2026

RMOIRE participates in affiliate programs, including the Rakuten Advertising affiliate program and a small number of direct merchant partnerships. This page explains what that means, how those relationships work, and — most importantly — how we keep them entirely separate from the styling recommendations our AI makes for you.

What an affiliate relationship is.

When you click a product link on RMOIRE's website, in our blog posts, or inside the RMOIRE app, and then make a purchase from that retailer within a window of time set by the retailer, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. This commission comes out of the retailer's marketing budget. It does not change the price you pay. The product costs you exactly what it would have cost you had you found it any other way.

The commissions we earn this way help support the development of RMOIRE. They allow us to keep our core wardrobe and styling features free, and to continue building the app without selling user data or running advertising. We think this is the most honest way to fund a consumer product, and we'd rather take a clear, disclosed commission than ask you to think about whether your data is being sold somewhere.

The line we hold: affiliate relationships never influence our AI.

This is the part that matters most, so we'll state it plainly: our affiliate relationships never influence which items the RMOIRE AI recommends.

The styling engine that suggests outfits and identifies wardrobe gaps does not know which retailers we have affiliate relationships with, and does not have access to commission rates. Its job is to surface the right piece for your wardrobe — not the most profitable one. When the engine identifies a gap and we have an affiliated retailer that carries a relevant product, we may show a link. When we don't, we don't. The recommendation comes first; the link is downstream of it.

If, in a given case, the best piece to fill a gap happens to be available only from a retailer we have no affiliate relationship with, we will still surface it. We will simply not earn anything from that recommendation. We have made this trade-off deliberately and we intend to keep making it.

Who we partner with.

We only partner with retailers and brands we believe offer genuine quality, fair return policies, and ethical labor practices to the extent we can verify them. We periodically review our partner list and remove retailers whose products or practices fall below the standard we've set internally. We do not partner with fast-fashion brands whose business model relies on disposable garments, regardless of commission rates.

As of the effective date above, our affiliate partners include retailers reached through the Rakuten Advertising affiliate network and a small number of direct merchant relationships. The list evolves over time. If you'd like a current list, write to us at hello@rmoire.ai.

How we disclose, where we disclose.

Per Federal Trade Commission guidelines, and per our own preference for being plainly readable, we disclose our affiliate relationships in the following places:

  • Site-wide. A link to this page appears in the footer of every page on rmoire.ai.
  • On every blog post. A short disclosure appears at the foot of every Journal essay, linking to this page.
  • In the app. When the RMOIRE app surfaces a shoppable recommendation, the recommendation is clearly labeled if the link is affiliate, and links to a shorter in-app version of this disclosure.
  • On request. If you'd like to know whether any specific link on RMOIRE is affiliate or not, write to hello@rmoire.ai and we'll tell you.

What this means for you, the reader.

When you click a product link on RMOIRE and buy something, three things happen: you get the product at the price the retailer set, the retailer fulfills the order, and RMOIRE receives a small commission some weeks later. Your experience is no different than if you had visited the retailer directly. Your data, beyond the click itself, is not shared with us by the retailer.

If you don't want clicks to be attributed to RMOIRE for any reason, you can simply visit the retailer's site directly and search for the product. The recommendation will be the same.

Questions.

We try to keep this page short, honest, and free of legal padding. If anything on it is unclear, or if you'd like to know more about how a specific recommendation came to appear in your app, please write to us at hello@rmoire.ai. We read everything that comes in.
