Privacy Policy.
This policy explains what RMOIRE collects when you use our app and website, what we do with it, who we share it with, and how to remove it. We've written it in plain language because we'd rather you actually read it. If anything is unclear, write to us at privacy@rmoire.ai.
What we collect.
To do the work an AI stylist needs to do, we collect three categories of information.
Wardrobe photos and attributes. When you photograph items from your wardrobe, we store the images on our servers and run them through computer-vision models that extract structured attributes — type (e.g., "trousers"), color, pattern, formality, fabric weight, length. We store both the images and the attributes. You can review, edit, and delete any item at any time.
Style preferences and usage data. We record which outfits you accepted, which you shuffled past, which pieces you most frequently wear, and any notes or tags you've added. We also collect basic product analytics — sessions, screens visited, feature usage — so we can understand how RMOIRE is being used and where it falls short.
Account information. When you create an account we collect an email address, an optional display name, and authentication metadata. If you connect a calendar or weather service, we collect the minimum information from those services required to make recommendations — date and weather forecast, calendar event titles and times if you grant that permission.
We do not collect or store financial information. Purchases of items recommended in the app are made on the retailer's site; the retailer handles payment.
How we use it.
The wardrobe and preference data we collect is used to power four things:
- Outfit recommendations. The styling engine reads your wardrobe and preferences to produce daily outfit suggestions.
- Personalization. Over time, the engine learns from your accept/reject signals to refine its suggestions to your taste.
- Gap detection. The system identifies wardrobe gaps and surfaces shoppable suggestions when appropriate.
- Product analytics. Aggregated and de-identified usage data helps us improve the app. We do not sell this data.
We do not use your wardrobe data, photographs, or preferences for advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Full stop.
Third-party services we use.
Building RMOIRE involves a small number of trusted infrastructure providers. Each one handles a narrow slice of the work, and each is bound by their own privacy commitments.
- Supabase — used for authenticated database and storage of your wardrobe data and photos.
- OpenAI and Anthropic — used to run the computer-vision and language models that extract wardrobe attributes from your photos and explain outfit recommendations. Images and prompts are sent to these providers via their APIs. Per their current API terms, content sent via API is not used to train their models.
- A privacy-respecting product analytics provider — used to collect aggregated, de-identified usage data. We do not send personal identifiers to this provider beyond a per-account opaque ID.
- Rakuten Advertising and direct merchant partners — when you click a product link in the app, the destination retailer (and the affiliate network connecting us) may record the click for attribution purposes per their own privacy policies.
We periodically review this list and will update this page when it changes materially.
Affiliate links and tracking.
When you click a product link in the app or on this website, the click may be tracked by our affiliate partners (currently Rakuten Advertising and a small number of direct merchants) for the purpose of attributing a possible commission to RMOIRE. The tracking is performed by the affiliate network or retailer, not by us, and is governed by their privacy policies. You can always reach the retailer directly without going through the affiliate link if you prefer.
See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full picture.
Data retention and deletion.
We keep your wardrobe and preference data for as long as you keep an active RMOIRE account. You can:
- Delete individual wardrobe items at any time from within the app.
- Export your full wardrobe and preference data on request, in a machine-readable format.
- Delete your account at any time, which removes all of your wardrobe data, photographs, preferences, and identifying information from our active systems within 30 days. Backups containing this data are rotated out within 90 days.
To request deletion or export, write to privacy@rmoire.ai or use the in-app account settings.
Your rights.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data-protection law — including the right to access your data, correct it, restrict its processing, and object to certain uses. We honor all such rights regardless of jurisdiction. To exercise any of them, write to privacy@rmoire.ai.
Children.
RMOIRE is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security.
We use industry-standard practices to protect the data we collect — encryption in transit, encryption at rest, scoped access to production systems, and routine security review of the third parties listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and will notify affected users in the event of a breach involving personal information.
Changes to this policy.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify active users by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Smaller clarifications may be made without notification.
